Set in the North West of Slovenia, close to the Italian and Austrian borders, the Soca valley offers an unrivalled location for adventure sports. Lying on the Eastern edge of the Alps, the Soca valley offers both Alpine conditions in the winter months and a mediteranean climate during the summer months (you can see the Adriatic sea from the ski area on a clear day). Couple this with spectacular mountain terrain, cascading rivers, green valleys, huge area's of forest and a very well linked trail and footpath network and you have the perfect adventure and extreme sports playground.

From late Novenber until early May, Kanin ski area offers an unrivalled environment for skiers and snowboarders of all levels. With an excellent beginers area, very reasonably priced ski/board hire and lessons the new skiers and boarders amongst you will be very well catered for. For the intermediates there are plenty of testing runs on the Slovenian side of the ski area and on the opposite side of the mountain down to the Italian resort of Sella Nevea. For advanced riders the area offers some outstanding off piste - from steep extreme to natural funpark, the area is litered with jumps, drops, chutes and open powder fields. You wont be waiting in line to get on any lifts here or rushing to make sure you get some powder turns in before they all dissapear - there are no package holiday crowds here and fresh tracks can be found for days after a new snow fall. From mid March you can also get in some white water rafting or mountain biking in the freeride park! 

In summer you can enjoy mountain biking in the freeride park, Guided xc tours or skills tuition courses. The area is littered with trails and one of the guided tours takes in Slovenia, Austria and Italy in a single day. You dont have to bike all week - throw in a day rafting, canyoning, quad biking, kayaking or paragliding - the choices are yours and will make an interesting and adrenaline filled change to your MTB holiday or simply come for a multi activity holiday.

Slovenia changed over to the Euro currency in January 07 and although the country has a booming economy, prices are still very cheap compared to the rest of Europe. The town has a good number of restaurants and bars and plenty of shops and supermarkets to buy your essentials.

You dont have to take part in any of the adventure sports activities to enjoy the Soca Valley. There are plenty of local attractions and a mediteranian Climate during the summer months making for a perfect destination for anyone wanting a relaxing but interesting break.
